This book merges story with puzzle solving to create a fun and interactive, pirate-themed adventure. Instead of traditional treasure hunts, readers will have the honour of burying the treasure themselves. The puzzles readers must solve involve finding the correct locations to bury treasure.Ariana has made a name for herself in Libertalia burying pirate treasure, but recently there have been some creatures running around preventing her from doing that, as well as stealing her treasure. Ariana must find out who is in control of these creatures she refers to as The Loot Snatchers before they completely ruin her business.

While in search of lost treasure, Ariana Trench finds herself marooned on a remote island run by highly intelligent monkeys known as the Trymonks. PREMISECenturies ago, the legendary Zhong Kui, the King of Ghosts, single-handedly subdued thousands of spirits across China, known as the Tangrams. He used the Tangrams to fend off enemy nations and build his empire known as New Kunlun. Zhong Kui believed none of his successors would be as disciplined as him, so he sought to disperse the Tangrams among his citizens instead of allowing the next emperor to control all of his Tangrams at once. Zhong Kui bound the Tangrams with talismanic seals and had his pilgrims hide them across the country.
He also had his alchemists forge seven stones known as the sacred Tans, which are to be used together as a key to unlock the Tangram Seals. Once the Tans are arranged in the shape of a Tangram seal, it will summon a Tangram with unique abilities, and part of those abilities will also be endowed to the person who summoned it. Every family in New Kunlun was given a pair of Sacred Tans, but only those who were brave and clever enough to seek out the Tangram Seals would have a chance to possess the power of the Tangrams.Centuries later, a new combat sport known as Tangram Martial Arts became a main event in New Kunlun. It is mainly showcased in tournaments where a fighter and tangrams battle against another fighter and their tangrams. If a fighter’s tangrams are knocked out, the fighter can continue to fight, but if the fighter is knocked out at any time, they will automatically lose the match.
This new sport caught the attention of the new emperor of New Kunlun, Emperor Shou. Emperor Shou sees the full potential of the Tangrams and believes that only his family lineage deserves to possess the power of the Tangrams. To bring about his vision, he commands his secret elite soldiers known as the Chinkara, to hunt down heroes and strip them of their sacred Tans and tangram seals.Julie Tan, an amateur fighter, is brought to New Kunlun for the first time and discovers that she was somehow noted as the previous champion of the tangram martial arts tournament. Julie Tan has no prior knowledge of this and assumes whoever fought in her name must have been a shapeshifting Tangram. She also discovers that her name has been listed to battle in the upcoming tournament and she has no choice but to participate because anyone who pulls out of the tournament will be imprisoned by the emperor.Julie later comes across a tangram named Huli who tells her that the winner of the tournament gets to enter the sacred treasure room of Zhong Kui and that there is a book there that lists all the tangrams that Zhong Kui discovered and what their powers are. This book will play a pivotal role in narrowing down which Tangram has shapeshifting abilities and Huli can help track them down. Julie Tan is now on a mission to search for more Tangram seals to help her win the tournament against fighters who have a grudge against her, and uncover the mysteries of New Kunlun.
THE TANGRAMS AND THE SEALSEvery Tangram is unique, but many of them may share the same class as other Tangrams, as well as their abilities. For instance, Huli belongs to a Fox Class Tangram Seal, but other tangrams may carry the same class, with or without similar abilities. There are many classes of tangram seals yet to be discovered, and some rare tangram classes may only have one tangram that belongs to them. Some tangrams talk, while some do not. Their designs generally feature a Chinese aesthetic of an object, an animal, or a person, depending on the class.
SUMMONING TANGRAMS
A person can summon a tangram to help with various mundane tasks. In the tangram martial arts tournament, fighters can use up to three tangrams in a single match and possess the power of all three tangrams at once. Tangrams are generally only loyal to the person who summoned them, meaning that if a person summons a tangram using another person’s tangram seal, that tangram will then switch loyalties between persons.

To celebrate Kodomo no Hi, the National Children's Day holiday in Japan, Kintaro is tasked with delivering puzzle boxes, all a part of the new Koitendo subscription box service. The fulfillment center for the puzzles is solely operated by robots, but it has been secretly taken over by the Yakuza and is being used to smuggle their dangerous merchandise.The story is told in the form of a full colored comic and includes many unique puzzles in which Kintaro must try to figure out how to deliver the puzzle boxes across Japan and regain control of the fulfillment center.
